TOP 20 MOST ANTICIPATED MOVIES OF 2015 ( +12 in the addition list )

I know that this is pretty late considering we’re in mid-April. Anyway, this still fun to do so whatever. Here are my top 20 most anticipated movies of 2015. (In order by released date)
*Please see Notes below before you continue in case you're wondering why The Avengers is on this list and other questions*

1.     Avengers: Age of Ultron  (May 1)
When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and it is up to the Avengers to stop the villainous Ultron from enacting his terrible plans.
Yup, that’s right! The second movie of Avengers.  I can’t wait to see what the Avengers are going to face this time! I think the trailer looks great and the editing looks cool. Also, don’t forget to stick to your seat for a while after the credits if you don’t want to miss any post-credit scenes.

2.       Pitch Perfect 2 (May 15)
Collegiate a cappella group the Barden Bellas enter into an international competition that no American team has ever won.
YESSS. The second movie of Pitch Perfect.  The first movie is quite entertaining and Rebel Wilson/Fat Amy is sooo funny, so lets keep our finger crossed for this one.

3.       Tomorrowland ( May 22)
Bound by a shared destiny, a teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius embark on a mission to unearth the secrets of a place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory.
Another movie that I wanted to see the most this year. It was produced by Disney and the trailer looks so frickin’ cool. Like, dude, that pin is grand I want to have one! The plot is very promising and very sci-fi which is one of my favorite genre. On top of that, there’s George Clooney. So, I have nothing to complain.

4.       Jurassic World (June 12)
Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park (1993), Isla Nublar now features a fully functioning dinasour theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. After 10 years of operation and visitor rates declining, in order to fulfill a corporate mandate, a new attraction is created to re-spark visitor’s interest, which backfires horribly.
The plot summary was good, but what I like the most about this is the trailer. It makes the movie so interesting and again, very sci-fi. I love the idea of Jurassic World theme park and all those technology looks beautiful. I hope the movie is as good as the trailer.

5.       Inside Out ( June 19)
After a girl moves to a new home, her emotions are plunged into chaos as they compete for control of her mind.
THIS. This is absolutely mind-blowing. It tells about what’s going on inside our head when we feel sad, happy, confused, etc. I applause to Disney or whoever it is who comes up with this great idea. The animation also looks cute. YAY for more Disney movies.
6.       Terminator (July 1)
After finding himself in a new time-line, Kyle Reese teams up with John Connor’s mother Sarah and an aging terminator to try and stop the one thing that the future fears, “Judgement Day”.
I know that the plot is about another judgement day story, but there hasn’t been any new Terminator movie since God knows when so it’s about time, I guess. I’ve said it before and I’m gonna said it again, sci-fi movies are my go-to movies, besides romantic comedy and thriller. So, here it is.

7.       Minions (July 10)
Minions Stuart, Kevin and Bob are recruited by Scarlet Overkill, a super-villain who, alongside her inventor husband Herb, hatches a plot to take over the world.
C’mon, who doesn’t want to see these yellow, mini cutie patooties?

8.       Mr. Holmes (July 17)
An aged, retired Sherlock Holmes looks back on his life, and grapples with an unsolved case involving a beautiful woman.
I always like Sherlock Holmes stories, or at least the ones I’ve seen so far. But the idea of an old, retired Sherlock Holmes is new and interesting. Sir Ian McKellen is going to be Mr. Sherlock Holmes this time so it’s a new point of view too (because I get used to seeing Robert Downey and Benedict Cumberbatch being Sherlock).

9.       Paper Towns (July 24) IMDB
A young man and his four friends embark upon the road trip of their lives to find the missing girl next door.
First of all, in case some of you didn’t know, Paper Town is a movie adaptation of John Green book, Paper Town. I gotta say, I kinda doubt Cara at first. But the trailer says otherwise.  It looks like they didn’t change much from the book(let’s hope so) and the characters’ traits are similar to the characters in the book. Even though Cara physically doesn’t look like Margo, she acts like her, so that’s cool for me.

10.   Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation (July 31)
Ethan and team take on their most impossible mission yet, eradicating the Syndicate – an International rogue organization as highly skilled as they are, commited destroying the IMF.
The trailer says everything. Also, Tom Cruise and Jeremy Renner! So why the heck not.

11.   Fantastic Four ( August 7)
Four young scientists achieve superhuman abilities through a teleportation experiment gone haywire. They must now use these abilities to save the world from an uprising tyrant.
YES for another Marvel production film. I know that they changed the whole main casts and I’m gonna miss everyone especially Chris Evans but I’m not complaining about the new casts. The trailers seem cool and there are Miles Teller and Kate Mara. I’m excited !

12.   Regression ( August 28 )
A father is accused of a crime he has no memory of commiting.
What a mysterious summary. It makes me really curious about what happened and it actually reminds me of The Judge. The actors in this movie are Emma Watson,Ethan Hawke, and David Thewlis (and others, too).  They are very talented actors so I’m pretty sure this is going to be great.

13.   Maze Runner: The Scorch Trial (September 18 )
After having escaped the Maze, the Gladers now face a new set of challenges on the open roads of a desolate landscape filled with unimaginable obstacles.
I’ve read this series by James Dashner and even though I did not enjoy the second book as much as the first one, I’m still looking forward on how they’re going to turn the book into the big screen. Since the first movie is quite satisfying , I think the second will be as well.

14.   Hotel Transylvania 2 ( September 25 )
When the old-old-old fashioned vampire Vlad arrives at the hotel for an impromptu family get-together, Hotel Transylvania is in for a collision of supernatural old-school and modern day cool.
It’s gonna be enlightening and fun, I’m pretty sure of that. Just check the trailer.

15.   The Walk ( October 2 )
The story of French high-wire artist Philippe Petit’s attempt to cross the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in 1974.
I’m usually not into movies that are adapted from real-life story, but the trailer of this movie seems really thrilling. The trailer is thrilling enough to make me want to watch the movie.

16.   Goosebumps ( October 16 )
A young kid teams up with the niece of young adult horror author R.L. Stine after the writer’s imaginary demons are set free on the town of Greendale, Maryland.
Goosebumps is one of my favorite children series (even though it horrifies me to death). I just have to see this. I hope it’s not as scary as it looks , especially that dummy doll from The Night of The Living Dummy. It’s creeping me out!

17.   Spectre ( November 16 )
A cryptic message from Bond’s past sends him on a trail to uncover a sinister organization. While M battles political forces to keep the secret service alive, Bond peels back the layers of deceit to reveal the terrible truth behind SPECTRE.
Do I really have to explain this?? Another Bond movies and nothing hurts. This gives me hope after so many rumors about Skyfall being the last Bond movie.

18.   The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 ( November 20 )
After being symbolized as the “Mockingjay”, Katniss Everdeen and District 13 engage in an all-out revolution against the autocratic Capitol.
Another book adaptation movies and the continuation of The Hunger Games trilogy. I actually like the last movie ( Mockingjay Part 1) better than the book. Please don’t hate me. I just think that the movie brings some moments that I don’t really feel much in the book.

19.   In The Heart of The Sea ( December 2 )
Based on the 1820 event, a whaling ship is preyed upon by a sperm whale, stranding its crew at sea for 90 days, thousands of miels from home.
I gotta admit, the first thing that got me into this movie is the poster. It’s so beautiful! But I check the trailer and it made me even more curious about it. You can check it out. A great adventure ahead !

20.   Star Wars : Episode VII – The Force Awakens ( December 18 )
A continuation of the saga created by George Lucas set thirty years after Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi (1983)
And I thought the saga has ended.

Now I know there should’ve been only 20 movies in this list, but IMDB just updated their lists and there are some movies that seems really interesting and the posters are so nice I kinda have to add these movies.
1.       San Andreas ( May 27 )
In the aftermath of a massive earthquake in California, a rescue-chopper pilot makes a dangerous journey across the state in order to rescue his estranged daughter.
I have no idea if this movie has anything to do with the game GTA San Andreas, but the trailer looks very similar to 2012. I don’t know why but end-of-the-world movies really attract me.

2.       Survivor ( May 29 )
A Foreign Service Officer in London tries to prevent a terrorist attack set to hit New York , but is forced to go on the run when she is framed for crimes she did not commit.
One word movies, most of the time, sound more interesting that long title movies. Then there’s Pierce Brosnan (aka former Bond) who’s going to star in this action thriller movie. DUH!

3.       Aloha ( May 28 )
A celebrated military contractor returns to the site of his greatest career triumphs and re-connects with a long-age love while unexpectedly falling for the hard-charging Air Force watchdog assigned to him.
Again, one-word movie here! I have to admit, I kinda hesitate at first to put this movie on the addition list. But then I see Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone. What really convinced me to add this to the list is what Bill Murray said at the end of the trailer. I think it’s going to be a good movie.

4.        Me and Earl and the Dying Girl ( June 12 )
A teenage filmmaker befriends a classmate with cancer.
An adaptation of the book Me,Earl and the Dying Girl. I haven’t read the book but I’ve watched a lot of good reviews from booktubers and how the book is such a light reading and makes you feel warm. The trailer looks promising.

5.       Big Game ( June 26 )
A young teenager camping in the woods helps rescue the President of the United States when Air Force One is shot down near his campsite.
I don’t know if this movie has already released in 2014 or it hasn’t because it is on the coming soon list on IMDB but it says that it has been released in 2014? Anyway, the trailer and the plot summary sounds promising.

6.       The Gift (July 31 )
A young married couple’s lives are thrown into a harrowing tailspin when an acquaintance from the husband’s past brings mysterious gifts and a horrifying secret to light after more than 20 years.
I’m not sure if I want to see this movie in the cinema because the plot scares me a little but I’m still curious so we’ll see how that works out.

7.       Dark Places ( August 7 )
A woman who survived the brutal killing of her family as a child is forced to confront the events of that day by a secret obsessed with solving notorious crimes.

8.       Pan ( October 8 )
The story of an orphan who is spirited away to the magical Neverland. There, he finds both fun and dangers and ultimately discovers his destiny – to become the hero who will be forever known as Peter Pan.
YESSS! One of my favorite Disney tale.

9.       Bridge of Spies ( October 9 )
An American lawyer is recruited by the CIA during the Cold War to help rescue a pilot detained in Soviet Union.
War stories are awesome. That’s what I can say.

10.   Suffragette ( October 23 )
The foot soldiers of the early feminist movement, women who were forced underground to pursue a dangerous game of cat and mouse with an increasingly brutal State.
Oooh yes, movie about feminism. About time. Starring the genius, Meryl Streep. Along with Carey Mulligan and Helena Bonham Carter.

11.   Knight of Cups ( December  11 )
A screenwriter living in LA tries to make sense of the strange events occurring around him.

12.   Snowden ( December 25 )
CIA employee Edward Snowden leaks thousands of classified documents to the press.
Well, that’s all, folks! What a long list. It took me long enough to make this list because I was in the middle of final exams a few weeks ago (I’m going to graduate soon!). I apologize for not posting in almost a month or so. I hope you enjoy this. Now that I’m in a long break, I can post more in my free time. I hope you guys looking forward to it as much as I do !

Notes:a) I know that The Avengers: Age of Ultron has already been released even though in my list it is said that the movie was going to be released on May 1. I just knew about this when I’ve done with this list and it’ll cost more time to edit so I just thought that I’ll leave it just the way it was. I’m going to watch the movie tomorrow and I’ll be reviewing it soon.
 b) I made this list a month ago but couldn't finish it due to exams and now I just found the perfect time to. If there are some changes on the title or anything for this year's upcoming movie, I apologize.
